The SFR Certification is the only distressed property certification recognized by NAR. Its primary purpose is to help Real Estate Professionals who want to assist buyers and sellers with guidance and understanding with very complicated issues associated with the current market conditions. According to a recent NAR survey, nearly one-third of all existing homes sold recently were either short sales or foreclosures, and in some areas of the country including Arizona, the numbers are higher.
